Paul F. Sharp, 86

Paul Franklin Sharp, son of Eldred and Marie (Bauer) Sharp, was born October 21, 1936, in Dow City.  He attended the Dunlap Community School in Dunlap.  As a youth Paul attended the Catholic church.

Paul served in the United States Marine Corp from May of 1955 to May of 1963.  After being honorably discharged from the Marines, he bought a Harley and spent time riding across the country.  He also started working and founded the company Data Path, a computer cabling network.

Paul was a loving father to three children, Harold, Kathy, and Julie. He had been married many times over the years when he finally found his soul mate Machiko Omae.  His biggest love was his family including extended family members Timothy, Frank, Bob, Raymond, Joe, Eve, and Mark.  Paul would do anything for his family.

Paul passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family, attaining the age of 86 years, 10 months, and 29 days.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Machiko Omae, son Harold, and brother Delmar Weise.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters Kathy (James) Robertson of Vail; Julie (Bob) Holobaugh of Millersport, Ohio; 24 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, sister Madonna Greco of Independence, Mo. and many other family and friends.

A 2 p.m. graveside service with military honors was held on Monday, September 25, 2023, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dunlap.  Daniel R. Sharp, Thomas Lutz, Brendan Holobaugh, Jennifer Holobaugh, Arielle Villarreal Lucas, Elizabeth Friedrichsen, Ayla Sypersma, Jessica Sharp, Timothy Cordova, Mike Grimes, James Robertson, and Bob Holobaugh served as honorary pallbearers.  Military honors were conducted by the Dunlap American Legion Post 224.

Pauley Jones Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
