Harrison County Conservation Board will host four stewardship workshops in partnership with Trees Forever. The workshops are great for anyone that lives in town or the country and wants to utilize native prairie plants and trees to diversify their landscape. Find out what you can plant to endure future droughts, invasive insects and diseases and what attracts the most wildlife.
Each workshop is held from 6-8 p.m. and starts at the Willow Lake Nature Center near Woodbine and then transitions into the park. There is no cost or registration, and the workshops will be held rain or shine. They will take place on the following dates: Wednesday, June 5 - Iowa Prairie and Woodland Habitats and Species Identification; Tuesday, July 9, Woodland Management; Wednesday, August 14, Prairie Management; and Thursday, September 26, Prairie Seed Collecting and Tree Planting. For more information, call the Willow Lake Nature Center at 712-647-2785.
