Craig Arnold Hardy, 59, of Moorhead, was arrested early Friday morning in Pisgah and is charged with two felonies and two misdemeanors: criminal mischief in the first degree, theft in the second degree, assault on law enforcement and driving while license is barred.

At approximately 2:16 a.m. on Friday, the Harrison County Dispatch Center received a call reporting someone operating a farm tractor within the city limits of Pisgah. The caller alleged that the individual was using the tractor to damage parked vehicles and playground equipment within the city park area, a release from the Harrison County Sheriff's Office states.

As Harrison County deputies were responding to the first call, another was received reporting that the individual was ramming the tractor into the garage doors at the city hall building. According to the release, a local resident arrived to the scene and disabled the tractor by removing the key from the ignition. The subject, later to be identified as Hardy, took off on foot and was apprehended by law enforcement.

An investigation found that Hardy had allegedly stolen the tractor from a rural farm property off of Laredo Ave., located approximately three miles north of the city limits of Magnolia, before driving it to Pisgah. Items and property he allegedly damaged include: motor vehicles, mailboxes, basketball poles, playground equipment, fencing and the city hall building.

Preliminary estimated damages are believed to exceed $10,000.
