With the annual Boyer Valley Alumni Banquet coming up on Saturday, those interested in attending should be sure to get in their RSVP ASAP if they are planning on attending.
A link to RSVP can be found on the alumni association's Facebook page, or they can be emailed to BoyerValleyAlumni@gmail.com or done in-person at United Bank of Iowa. Please include your class year and name as you'd prefer it on your name tag, and make checks payable to BVCAA.
Keeping up the tradition of the 20th anniversary class planning the event each year, 2004 gradutates Regina Johnson and Jake Schaben have been hard at work. Austin McDonald and Liz Davie, who revamped the event last year, have also been assisting.
With a 5 p.m. social hour, 6 p.m. dinner and 7 p.m. – 12 a.m. window for entertainment from Them Uke Boys, which boasts a 2004 graduate as a member of the band, there will be plenty of time for folks to catch up out at the 4 County Fair Building.
“Personally, I think Facebook has made these functions less well-attended,”Schaben said. “You stay so much better connected throughout the year and you can see how their lives are going. But really, I looked back through my class list and there are a ton of people who I have not seen face-to-face since we graduated. I'm really hoping to just reconnect with a lot of folks, either from my class or who were in school while I was in school, and catch up on more of a personal level rather than seeing photos that are on Facebook.”
Please note that the Dunlap Reporter will have a photographer at the event to take photos of classes after dinner.
