“Praise to God for giving me the strength and fortitude to finish this race!” Wilkerson said in a statement. “The biggest thank you to Gary for his love and support and for being so understanding when he's had to eat chicken strips and fries for so many nights when I was out knocking on doors. Thank you to my children for not complaining when I had to postpone events until 'after the election.'
“Thank you to each and every one of you that supported me in so many ways! I thank you for your prayers, putting signs in your yard, talking to your friends and neighbors, giving me words of encouragement, financial support and so many more!”
Wilkerson will join current supervisors Tony Smith and Brian Rife when she assumes office in January.
