Patricia JoAnn Androy, 58, died on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020, at MercyOne Hospital in Sioux City. She was born on Mar. 28, 1962, to Daniel and JoAnn (Reed) Mefferd in Missouri Valley. She grew up in Dunlap and graduated from the Dunlap High School in 1980. Patti went on to nursing school at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, and graduated in 1985, earning her degree as a registered nurse. On Sept. 24, 1988, Patti married Thomas Androy at the RLDS Church in Dunlap. Patti worked at two hospitals in the area, Jennie Edmondson Hospital in Council Bluffs and Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley. She also worked for many years at the local nursing homes, including Earling, Woodbine and Dunlap.

Patti enjoyed scrapbooking and collecting things, especially cookbooks and Ty Beanie Babies. She would drive all over hunting for items to add to her collections. Patti loved watching cooking shows and CSI shows. She lived for Christmas. She loved to spoil others, Tom, her children, her grandchildren and nieces and nephews, but she didn’t ever want anything in return, she truly enjoyed being able to give. Patti loved shopping with her kids but most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Patti was preceded in death by her father and infant brother, Danny Jo. She is survived by her husband, Tom Androy of Dunlap; children, Charity and husband Jeff Savary of Eureka, Mo., Cassie and husband Brett Johnson of Sergeant Bluff and Jordan Androy and wife Mallory of Dunlap; eight grandchildren; mother, JoAnn Mefferd of Dunlap; siblings, J.C. Mefferd and wife Cheryl of Manilla, Donnie Mefferd of Dunlap and Matt Mefferd and wife Dr. Antje of Nashville, Tenn.; and many other relatives and friends.

A family memorial service was held on Monday, Nov. 9, 2020 at Fouts Funeral Home in Dunlap with Elder Alan Ronk presiding over the service. The recoded musical selections were “The Old Rugged Cross” by Alan Jackson and “The Dance” by Garth Brooks. The honorary pallbearers were Jay Mefferd Jr. “Beaner”, Joseph Mefferd, Daniel Mefferd, Aaron Mefferd, Alicia Mefferd, Lucas Mefferd and Ella Mefferd.
