She grew up in the Wellman area and graduated in 1970. While working as a candy striper at the Knoxville Veteran’s Home, Nancy met Dwight “Pickles” Baker. They were married on Dec. 22, 1979, in Wellman and then they made their home east of Woodbine. Nancy worked with Dwight putting up grain bins. She also worked for Francis Harper’s Farm Supply. In 1996, Nancy went to work for Alegent Health in Missouri Valley, in their home health and hospice program. She then served as the Dunlap City Clerk until her retirement. Nancy was a member of the RLDS Church and later became a member of the Followers of Christ. She served as the reunion campground nurse and as the church secretary. Nancy enjoyed the sun, especially when she was mowing the lawn. She was known for her homemade greeting cards. Most of all, she cherished the time she was able to spend with Jocelyn, Alayne, Cecilia and Michael, the little ones she considered her grandkids, during their summer breaks and holiday.
