Larry James Jacob passed away Dec. 2, in Clearwater, Fla.

Larry was born Dec. 20, 1948, and grew up in Dunlap. He attended grades 1-12 in Dunlap and was active in football, basketball, choir, and spent many hours working on his ’55 Chevy.

Larry was a true “handyman”. He worked on go-karts, motorcycles, several cars, anything that needed fixing.

He graduated from ISU in 1974 and went into sales work throughout his life. The last 25 years, he was president of J. Way services, working on sales and services of car washes throughout the U.S.

Larry had a great sense of humor, quick wit, and traveled all throughout the world; a mission trip to Africa and trips to Cuba and South America.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Dorothy Jacob; a brother, Roger Jacob in 1981; and a sister, Marilyn Huntress, 2024. He is survived by brother, Ken Jacob of Ames; sister, Sandy Duncombe (Kevit) of Ankeny; several nieces and nephews and many friends.

A private oceanside ceremony is planned in Florida in February. Cremation rites were accorded with interment next to his parents in Dunlap this summer.
