On Friday, Aug. 26, 2022, James Lynn Nichols, loving husband, man of faith, father of five, and grandfather, went home to be with the Lord at age 63, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Upon graduating from high school, James enlisted in the Navy, dedicating 30 years of his life to serving our country. James retired as a Master Chief and Master Diver, making a profound impact on countless sailors throughout his career. While in the Navy, he met Karyl, who later became his wife. They were married for 33 years.
As a lover of playing guitar and all things music, James earned his Associate’s Degree in Music Technology and Production following his retirement from the Navy and was involved in the production of numerous spring musicals at Gulf Coast State College. James also loved to travel and play golf with his family and friends.
James was best known for his quick-witted humor and quiet demeanor, always maintaining the unique ability to capture the attention of those around him when he spoke.
A Celebration of Life will be at the Dunlap Golf Course on Sept. 24 from 1-4 p.m.
