Edythe Frerichs, 90, died on June 11, 2023, at the Sunrise Retirement Community in Sioux City. She was born on March 21, 1933, in Dunlap, to David and Myrtle (Mitchell) Frazier. She attended school in Dunlap and graduated in 1951. Edythe worked for the Dunlap Reporter. In 1961, Edythe married Arnold Frerichs and they built a loving home and life together in Sioux City. There Edythe worked for a car dealership in the title and registration department. Arnold preceded Edythe in death, but his memory remained with her throughout the rest of her life.

Edythe cultivated numerous hobbies and interests that kept her busy and brought great joy to her life. One of her greatest passions was bowling; indeed, it was at a local bowling alley where she met Arnold. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and taking long walks, relishing the feel of the sun on her face. Among her favorite sports teams were the Minnesota Twins, and baseball legend Pete Rose held a special place in her heart as well.

Edythe is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnold; three brothers, Duane, Paul and Fred Frazier; and sister, Ann Benson. Edythe is survived by her son, Scott Frerichs of Scottsdale, Ariz.; granddaughter, Emily Frerichs of Tempe, Ariz.; brother, Ed Frazier and his wife Liz of Decatur, Neb.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A private family service was held. Fouts Funeral Home in Dunlap was in charge of arrangements. www.foutsfuneralhome.com
