Cleo D. Woodard, 84

Cleo Dean Woodard, 84, died on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at the Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, Neb. She was born on July 4, 1938, in Mondamin to parents Roby and Emma (Gregg) Parker. Cleo graduated from Mondamin High School in 1957. She worked as a waitress and her future husband James “Jim” Woodard would stop in the café for coffee or lunch. They were married on Oct. 4, 1959, in Mondamin. The couple lived in Omaha for a while and then moved to the Dunlap area in 1965. Cleo worked as a waitress at the Far Out café in Dunlap, then Eventide Nursing Home in Denison and Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine as a nurses aid for 27 years. She then worked in housekeeping at the Dunlap Specialty Care.

Cleo loved to cook, watch the birds, do word searches and keep up with her grandkids.

Cleo was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings, two infant siblings, her twin sister, Carol Jean (died at birth) Francis Parker, Bob Parker, Eugene Parker, Lee Parker, Ralph Parker, Lola Anderson, Helen Wakehouse, Pat Marshall, Lois Wiggins and Dorothy Hizar. She is survived by her three children, James Woodard and his wife Nancy of Charter Oak, Francis Woodard of Omaha, Neb. and Norma and her husband Larry Rodasky of Dunlap; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Fouts Funeral Home in Dunlap. Reverend Chip Borgstadt presided over the service. The recorded musical selections were “Just a Closer Walk with Thee” and “Amazing Grace”. The honorary pallbearers were Lilly Jacobson, Jen Cink, Dominic Reicks, Jennifer Rodasky, Jorri Rector, Hailey Rodasky, Kevin Wielgus, Cory Wielgus, Tait Jacobson, Autumn Rector and Leo Rector. The pallbearers were Jeff Rodasky, Chanc Jacobson, James J. Woodard, Cody Rodasky, Hawkins Jacobson and Josh Cink. Cleo’s final resting place is at the Greenwood Cemetery.
