City of Dunlap Meeting Minutes March 8, 2023 Mayor Knickman called the regular council meeting to order on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at 7:00 pm in the Council Chambers, City Hall pursuant to law with the following council members present: Kuhlman, Gunia, Bonsall, Schauer. Motion by Schauer second by Gunia to approve the agenda. All in favor, motion carried. Motion by Schauer second by Bonsall to approve minutes from February 8 Regular Council Meeting. All in favor, motion carried. Motion by Schauer second by Kuhlma to approve payment of bills. All in favor, motion carried. Motion by Gunia second by Schauer to approve consent agenda items: Building Permits; Boyer Valley Community School, Silver Fox, Mark Brasel and Town & Country. All in favor, motion carried. Joyce Cogdill gave a report on the Fire Department. Philip Davis, Harrison County EMA/911 Coordinator spoke to the Council about new Alert Iowa System. Motion by Gunia second by Schauer to approve the new pump for the lagoons. All in favor, motion carried. Motion by Gunia second by Schauer to approve Ten Point for the Street repairs. All in favor, motion carried. Mayor Knickman let the Council know that he received Tony Casperson’s resignation. The Council decided to advertise the vacancy. Councilwoman Kuhlman brought up allowing chickens in town. Discussion was had about the pro and cons. It will be on next months agenda for more discussion. Motion by Gunia second by Gunia to give Paula Evans a $1.50 raise effective immediately and a 5% raise for everyone on July 1, 2023. All in favor, motion carried. Motion by Gunia second by Kuhlman to approve the Resolution 2023-02 Max Levy. All in favor, motion carried. Motion by Gunia second by Bonsall to adjourn at 8:05pm. All in favor, motion carried.
