BOYER VALLEY COMMUNITY SCHOOLS BOARD OF DIRECTORS SPECIAL MEETING – OCTOBER 13, 2021 6:00 P.M. – BOYER VALLEY BOARD ROOM CALL TO ORDER: President Elizabeth Heistand called a special meeting of the Boyer Valley Board of Education to order at 6:00 p.m. Members answering roll call were Ken Dunham, Craig Malone, Steve Puck, Elizabeth Heistand, JoEtt Cogdill and Candace Ueding. Also present were Superintendent Kurt Brosamle, Secretary Terra Sell and School Attorney Kristy Latta. President Heistand declared quorum present. Secretary Sell read the mission statement. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA: Motion by Cogdill, second by Ueding to approve the agenda as posted. Motion carried 6-0. CLOSED SESSION: Motion was made by Cogdill, second by Ueding to enter into closed session pursuant to Iowa Code 21.5(1)(a) to review or discuss records which are required or authorized by state or federal law to be kept confidential and 21.5(1) (i) of the open meetings law to evaluate the professional competency of an individual whose appointment, hiring, performance, or discharge is being considered when necessary to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individual’s reputation and that individual has verbally requested a closed session at 6:03 p.m. Ayes: Cogdill, Ueding, Dunham, Heistand, Malone and Puck At 7:21 p.m. a motion by Puck, second by Cogdill return to open session. Ayes: Puck, Cogdill, Dunham, Heistand, Malone and Ueding Motion by Cogdill, second by Ueding to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 6-0. With no further business appearing before the board, President Heistand declared the meeting adjourned at 7:21 p.m. These minutes are as recorded by the board secretary and subject to approval at the next regular board meeting.
