Anna M. Samuelson, 91

Anna Mae (Price) Samuelson,91, died on Feb. 24, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs. She was born on Aug. 18, 1933, to Paul and Dora (Pace) Price in Dunlap. She attended school in Dow City. Anna married Jerry Renz on Sept. 25, 1948, in Hiawatha, Kan., and the couple settled in Dunlap. Jerry died in July of 1971, and in 1975 Anna married Donald Samuelson. Donald died April 21, 1999. She worked at Worldwide Meats, then at Westmont Nursing home in Logan, and then in the kitchen at Dunlap Nursing and Rehab. In 2007, Anna sold her home in Dunlap and moved to Council Bluffs.

Anna liked to shop, travel and drive around checking neighborhoods. She loved her dog and taking walks together. Anna especially cherished the time spent with family and friends.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Price and Dora Duncan; her husbands; siblings, Jeanne (Mel) Benton, Delores (Howard) Andrews, Marvin Price and Dennis Price; and brother-in-law, Philip Bowman. She is survived by her five children, Jerry (Therese) Renz of Earlville, Etta (Keith) Peterson of Denison, Debbie Renz of Council Bluffs, Anita (Wally) Murphy of Omaha, Neb. and Chris (Charlie) Constant of Council Bluffs; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; sister, Juanita Bowman of Colorado City, Colo.; and many other relatives and friends.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the St. John Lutheran Church in Dunlap with Rev. Chip Borgstadt presiding over the service. The recorded musical selections were “Amazing Grace”, “Wings Of A Dove” and “One There Is, Above All Others”. The pallbearers were Lonnie Kolln, James Kolln, Jim Peterson, Justin Kolln, Eugene Murphy and Chris Long. Anna’s final resting place is at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dunlap.
